Özet (EN)
This study was carried out descriptively in order to determine the relationship between pain prevalence and quality of life in the elderly living in Silopi district center of Şırnak province. Ethics committee permission, scale permissions and permission from the institution and participants of the research were obtained before the research. The sample of the study consisted of 280 people living in the Silopi District center of Şırnak Province and agreeing to participate in the research voluntarily. The data of the study were collected using "Personal Information Form", "Geriatric Pain Scale (GPS)" and "World Health Organization Life Quality Elderly Module WHOQOL-OLD Scale (LQS)". In the given analysis, statistical analyzes were made in R software. Descriptive statistics of the qualitative variables in the study were determined by frequency and percentage; quantitative variables were given with mean, standard error, median, minimum and maximum values. The suitability of quantitative variables to normal distribution was examined with the Shapiro Wilk test. Mann Whitney U test was used in 2-group comparisons of quantitative variables that did not fit the normal distribution, Kruskal Wallis test in 3-group comparisons, and Mann-Whitney U test with Bonferonni correction in 2-subgroup comparisons. In all statistical comparisons in the study, results below p value 0.05 were considered statistically significant. When the relationship between GPS total and sub-dimensions and LQS sub-dimensions is analyzed, a positive weak relationship between GPS total scale score and "past / present / future" and "social participation" sub-dimensions, negative dimension with "death / die" sub-dimension It was determined that there is a relationship. It was determined that there was a weak positive relationship between the withdrawal sub-dimension and "sensory function" due to pain, and a weak negative relationship between the "past / present / future" and "social participation" sub-dimensions. As a result in the study; It was determined that the demographic characteristics of individuals with pain directly affect the pain. It was determined that the pains of women living alone, elderly people with low education and income levels were higher. It was determined that the quality of life of individuals with pain decreased and the quality of life of individuals who could do physical activity with pain increased. It has been determined that as the quality of life increases, negative thoughts towards death decrease in elderly individuals, to act autonomously, to perform daily activities and to socialize.
