Abstract (EN)
The triaxial compression tests applied in the laboratory to define soils are one of the test methods used to determine the shear strength of the soil. In order to obtain the parameters determining the shear strength, this test should be applied on at least three samples of the soil subjected to the triaxial test, having the same characteristics. This situation makes it difficult to obtain information about the soils due to problems such as the difficulty of obtaining samples with the same characteristics due to field conditions, loss of time, and economic concerns. At this point, multistage tests have been developed to solve these problems. Contrary to the advantages of multistage tests in the literature, there are also disadvantages of not obtaining reliable soil behavior or accurate shear strength parameters. Within the scope of this study, the usability of the multistage test method in normally consolidated clayey silt soils with consolidated drainage triaxial tests was investigated, and both conventional triaxial tests and multistage tests were performed on cylindrical specimens prepared by reconstituted. The tests were carried out on clayey silty soils with different clay ratios. Thus, the shear strength parameters obtained from the tests were diversified and the obtained parameters were compared. The differences between the shear strength parameters obtained from conventional and multistage methods were investigated. In addition to the studies applied in the literature, a new method has been applied and discussed to find the shear strength parameters. It has been observed that this new method applied also gives promising results.
