Özet (EN)

Exam scheduling was always a difficult task and time consuming until the recent years when most of the educational institutions started using the automatic education in scheduling the examinations instead of the manual one. The manual scheduling results in time wasting and low-motivated job. However, this study was conducted in order to implement the mathematical modeling technique to generate the timetable for the final examinations for the Iraqi Private School located in Istanbul- Turkey. The model was compiled and executed using the MATLAB software and GAMS optimization package program. In this paper, data for the problem was prepared in relevant to three educational levels namely: elementary (six years), intermediate (three years) and high secondary (three years). 121 exams are considered for ten days planning horizon with two sessions. During the study, it is attempted to ensure that every student was assigned to only one exam per day and zero time slots. Different scenario analyses are also generated to provide managerial insights for the school. Eventually, the generated exam timetable(s) are suggested to the school for the upcoming exam sessions in the same year.
