Investigation of fishing composition and reproductivebiology of red mullet (Mullus barbatus ponticus Ess. 1927) hunted in Sinop region

The objective of this study is determine the age composition,length composition, weight composition, the coralation of length with weight,the factor of condision, growth parameters, mortality rates and age of reproduction of red mullet (Mullus barbatus ponticus Ess. 1927) that hunted in Sinop region. During the process of research the fishes which hunt with the bottom trawling and gill net in Sinop region, a total of 1276 fish samples were collected. The ages are betwen 1-4, sex percentages are %63.79 female, %34.56 male and %1.65 unidentified sex. %38.94 of the sample has legal minimum landing size which is 13 cm. The growth parameters of the population are calculated as, L∞=18.70cm, K=0.36 ve t0=-1.56 years. Mortality rates of all individuals are calculated as, M= 0.805, F= 0.69, Z= 1.495 and E=0.46.
