Visual descriptions on the city of Sinop

.The subject of this thesis is the artists and their works that visually depict the city of Sinop in the art of painting. The information of the artists within the scope of the study, how the works were studied in the historical process, the examination of the works in terms of current and style, technique and material were included in the content of the thesis. Again in the content of the thesis, works of art belonging to Sinop were examined and at the end of the research, compositions on Sinop were studied and these visual works were presented with explanations. The subject of this thesis gains importance as the cultural values, history and nature of the city will be handled from a new perspective and this perspective will be transformed into production with painting and photography works. With this thesis, Sinop-themed visual works that have been studied in the art of painting have been brought together and compiled and collected under one source, and at the same time an inventory has been made. The thesis is important in terms of researching and gathering the visuals that are historical documents of Sinop for the first time, contributing to historical and archaeological science with its imprint in the same source, and carrying them to future generations. The aim of this thesis is to play an active role in the cultural context by increasing the sensitivity to the environment we live in. The main purpose of the thesis is to investigate the contribution of the city to art as a content, to examine the works on Sinop, to visualize the city in terms of its nature, culture, history and to transform these elements into an artistic production.
