The valuation of the firm and management in the corporate mergers: The example of Akçansa

As a result of this, companies have been trying to find activities in intenational markets going beyond the national ones. Mergers have been put forward owing to the extension of markets. Nowadays, mergers among companies of international scale have been folloving each other and companies in national borders have been coming after them. The companies in national borders have been trying to survive by tutting their powers in this condition of global competition. This progress carries a big importance especially for our country that has activities throught this global competition. Acting with the thoughts above, this thesis named as "The Valuation Of The Firm and Management In The Company Mergers" have been searched on. Developments of the companies and reasons for this development are first taken into consideration and then today's trends on the company mergerings are evaluated. Afterwards, chief reasons leading the companies to progression, period of merger and payment methods applied for the merger are explained. Company mergers in Turkey is mostly taken into account in legislational frame and proccedures that have to be follewed on this subject are discussed. In the section of valuation and management of the company, methods used on the valuation of company are explained comperatively by taking inside and outside instruments into account. Among those methods, discounted cash flow method that gives the most significant and realistic results with respect to others are discussed on deeply. In the last section, some applications are explained and it is concluded that companies decided in merger reaches positive synergy after this period as a result of this application.
