Factors affecting firms' digital transformation and success criteria

This dissertation examines the factors influencing firm performance in digital transformation and aims to understand the impact of drivers, digital maturity levels, change communication, and resistance to digital transformation on it. The dissertation tests nine hypotheses based on literature review and conceptual model development processes. The findings indicate a positive effect of digital transformation drivers, digital maturity level, and change communication on firm performance. Additionally, a strong relationship between digital maturity level and change communication is identified. However, the impact of change communication on resistance to digital transformation and the effect of resistance to digital transformation on firm performance could not be determined. This dissertation contributes to the understanding of complex relationships, providing recommendations to help companies manage their digital transformation processes more effectively.
