Abstract (EN)
With the development of technology, transportation facilities have increased greatly and it has gained importance for humanity. Highways that receive the largest share of development in transportation are the most commonly used type of transportation with a large majority in the world. Unfortunately, the development of transport facilities and the developments in transport safety could not improve collaterally. Every year, transportation accidents, a great majority of the world occur on the roads cause millions of people to die. There are various causes of accidents on highways. These include alcohol, over speed, vehicle imperfections, and bad weather conditions. In this thesis, it is aimed to decrease the fog-induced accidents that is one of the bad weather conditions. Nowadays, there are many ways to improve misty/foggy image. In this study, the most modern and best performing methods were examined in MATLAB program and the most suitable for driver support system was determined. Tests show that it is clear when the MSP method, which achieved best results in this study, is applied to the driver support system, obviously, the worries of drivers and accidents will be reduced.
