Abstract (EN)
A large part of the settlement region of Eskişehir is located on alluvial soil. The region is thought to be significantly affected by the earthquake because of its proximity to the fault lines. Because of the fact that, engineering parameters of the ground should be determined for the study area. Seismic methods are commonly used to find these parameters. In this study, ground engineering parameters such as dynamic and elastic parameters were determined and modeled by using GIS for the selected area. For this purpose, seismic refraction and microtremor measurements were taken on 23 different locations. The data obtained were analyzed and seismic wave velocities were determined. According to the calculated velocities some ground dynamic parameters were determined. By using these parameters and GIS techniques, seismic maps of the study area were created. The average shear wave velocity for the first 30 m of the city, site amplification, dominant period of the ground and other dynamic and elastic parameters of spatial variations were interpolated by using GIS. The results of this study could be used in the determination of risky areas for urban relocation, the creation of earthquake master plans and determination of new settlement areas.
