Tomb, in Turkish ?Türbe?, is a type of structure spead in the ?slamic world by the Turkish. The origin of the word ?Türbe? is the Arabic word ?Türb? (soil) and the meaning of ?Türbe? is a building settled on a grave. In Anatolia today there are lots of tombs, belonging to Seljuk, Beylikler and Ottoman periods. Sivas, wasone of the important crossroads of commerce throughout the history. The topic of Sivas, after the Turkish dominance of the region. Extant tombs of the provincial center have been investigated in architectural and artistic terms. Particularly present çini decoration Works of the remnants of Seljuk perod are considered to be the best examples. In Sivas there are sixteen registered tombs which are also under protection. They differ from other tombs which are situated in the city center due to their decorations based on Seljuk tradition. These monuments date back to Seljuk, Eretna and Ottoman times. Types of the extant tombs are as such: two tombs from Seljuk, four from Eretna Beyliği, eight from Ottman perod. Five of the tombs have square plan, two of the tombs have rectangular plans, other two tombs have poligonal plans, other three are legged tombs, other two tombs are constructed in separate plans. Abdülvehap Gazi (Mosque) Tomb (14 th century), 1. ?zzeddin Keykavus (Darüssifa) (1219), Burucerdi (Madrasah) (1271) and Hoca ?mama (Moque) (15 th century) tombs were constructed dependent to the current structures. The wall remnants existing on the North corners of the Gügük Minare (1347) Tomb, extant from Eretna, connotes the tomb could have been constructed atlached to another structure. The monuments plans, ornaments, covering, ingredients were investigated in detail in the catalog section, and compared with the similar examples of the same period in Anatolia. ?nseriptions of the tombs with inseriptions have been studied and used in the dating of these monuments. Dating of tombs without inscriptions on them have been done according to their plan type, ingredients, ornaments and structural features.
