Abstract (EN)

Radar systems have a very important place in both military and civilian areas. No country can provide security and safety in the military and civil aviation field without using radar. For this reason, radar systems are constantly developing and making significant progress. Istanbul Airport, which has been designated as one of the most important airports in the world and opened in 2019, has more than 35,000 flights per month.One of the biggest assistants of air traffic controllers in flight is radar systems.If air transportation is accepted as the safest mode of transportation, the importance of these systems increases one more time.In this study, new generation radar systems used in our country are examined. Methods of operation of the systems, processing of the obtained signals and transmitting to the air traffic unit are explained. Eurocontrol notes that the Organization of trainings related to civil aviation in Europe, especially in the study, training materials given by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority, which has been used in this field in Turkey.
