The effect of associations as non-governmental institutions on macro-economic indicators

The developing and globalizing social structure has led to the emergence of new actors to meet the needs of the individual. Non-governmental organizations that serve as leading organizations in the fields of social work such as providing professional solidarity in the globalizing world, caring for the elderly, education of the disabled, protecting and educating the orphans, helping the poor, reducing the effects of environmental problems, making necessary arrangements after mass migrations, constitute the basic building blocks of modern society.Today's conditions that change rapidly, changes in information and technological fields, globalization and the formation of modern democratic societies have led to the increasing importance of non-governmental organizations and the duties and responsibilities that they undertake. Non-governmental organizations act as a complementary organization rather than an alternative institution alongside the public and private sectors. These organizations have begun to undertake duties and responsibilities that attach importance to various fields such as education, health, cultural, environmental, urban and rural development issues where the public is lacking. In this context, non-governmental organizations continue to operate as a third sector besides the public and private sector. In this study, non-governmental organizations in which the understanding of social unity prevails, especially associations, how it has progressed in the historical process, the ways of setting up these organizations and their various qualities are presented in detail. Afterwards, how and in what way the non-governmental organizations affect the important macro economic indicators for our country and the effects of these organizations on the welfare of the society are examined in detail.
