Analysi̇s of the sports touri̇sm potenti̇al of si̇vri̇ce di̇stri̇ct

Sivrice district, which has a wide range of touristic spots, is among the destinations desiring to have a say in sports tourism. The aim of this study is to determine the sports tourism opportunities of Sivrice district and to reveal and evaluate the ways for the district to use these opportunities at the desired level. In the study, the sports tourism potential of Sivrice district was analyzed, and the products that it offered or could offer to the sports tourism supply were tried to be introduced in order, and the obstacles to the development of sports tourism were tried to be determined. This is a study made with document analysis. By examining the printed sources on the subject, the data obtained were classified according to the degree of importance. Summary tables were created by using the reports on the official websites of all relevant institutions. The numbers of tourists coming to the district for the last 5 years and tourism revenues of the relevant years were compared with other destinations in the region, and the ratios were determined as percentages. The current situation was tried to be determined. As a result of the comparison, Elazig province, to which Sivrice Hazar Baba Ski Center is affiliated, hosted 11.15 % more visitors than Kastamonu province out of 9 active ski centers determined by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and with a share of 14.35 % among 7 inactive ski resorts. It was determined to be in the 3rd place. As a result of the study, it was determined that the district of Sivrice has a potential for sports tourism, but this potential could not be used at the desired level. It was concluded that the strengths and weaknesses should be well determined, it is important to create a sustainable tourism policy and keep up with the changes, and it will be more effective if all stakeholders meet on a common ground and act together.
