Suggestions for the development of gastronomy tourism in Sivrihisar

In today's world, where the competition in tourism is increasing and tourists are looking for original and authentic experiences, destinations are trying to create a unique destination identity by highlighting their unique values. One of the most important elements that reflect the unique values of a destination is its gastronomic values. This study aims to determine the gastronomic values and gastronomic tourism potential of Sivrihisar, which has a rich culinary culture, and to make suggestions for the development of gastronomic tourism potential. A qualitative research design was used in this research. Interviews were conducted with 10 stakeholders who direct gastronomy and tourism in Sivrihisar, using a semi-structured interview technique. The findings obtained from the interviews were collected under 11 headings and analyzed by descriptive analysis method and were conveyed using direct quotations. The findings showed that gastronomy tourism started in Sivrihisar with the acquisition of geographical indications and the organization of the gastronomy festival, but it is still in the development stage. It has been determined that Sivrihisar cuisine is not yet well-known throughout the country. In this direction, suggestions have been made for the development of gastronomic tourism in Sivrihisar.
