Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to study rhetoric through Plato's political philosophy. It will be tried to examine where rhetoric, known as an art of persuasion, is located in Plato's political philosophy and the reasons for the criticisms of rhetoric. In order to achieve this aim, a phased study will be carried out. While the first part includes what rhetoric is and its development process, and also the occasional elaboration of sophist and the sophist tradition on the line of Plato, the last part will try to explain what rhetoric is and why it is important and critical for political philosophy in the light of Plato's own works. Our main problem in the rhetoric analysis that we will make through Plato's works is to examine why rhetoric is a political issue and its relationship with political philosophy.
