Using nationalistic discourses in political communication process

Abstract (EN)

Today, natıonalıst approaches have been observed all around the world especially in East Europe and old Soviet regions. ?Natıonalısm?which especially occured during the modernisation process, become affective with the French Revolutıon, and after the 19 th Century, started to shape the world political map. Although the subject matter of natıonalıstıc movement in academic level also being argued. The scientific studies about this matter have shown an increase since 1920?s. Especially after 1970?s nationalism literature has gained important works. The investigators( researches) and historians studying related to this subject. They have brought same different descriptions although emphesized that the phenemeno of nationalism is not described.Since natinalism associated with metophysics, it is not identified clearly. From this point of view, the question of why nationalism causes loneliness and the matter of alienated individual of his identity. Identity has been argued a lot since Ancien Greek. Each individual has many identities but ? the national identity? functions differently due to being collective identity. Being a member of any nation reduces the lonelıness of the alienated individuals. İn the modern world as a modern phenomen Nationalism creates not only the nation but also national state.We again come across with nationalism as a strong ideological discourse during the political communication process. As it is known,political communication process is related to political propaganda, political public relations, political marketing tecnigues and especially political advertising. We encountered the applications of political communication fistly in the U.S.A .These kind of studies( applications) have also been appliede in political election campaign in our country since the end of the 1980?s.Natinalist Movement Party (MHP),) which considers nationalism as an ideolgy and forms its party programme from the point of wiew of nationalism is one of the most important political actors by using nationalistic discourses. We can easily say that MHP forms its political communication process on natinalist ideology if we are studying its party programme and its chairman?s speech.In spite of the common belief, the perceptive of MHP is not ? ethnical? but ?cultural?. İt has been claimed that the problems relating to nationalism are the economic problems fundementally.Truth Path Party(DYP) give importance nationalistic discourses. Nationalistic discorses of DYP is conservative and Liberalist . Republic People Party(CHP) believe in principles seth forth by Atatürk. The Justice and Development Party(AKP) fall apart from nationalistic discourses.He parties that are being talked don?t consider etnic nationalistic thoughts. Territorial nationalistic thoughts and cultural nationalistıic thoughts are common domains. All of the politics parties believe in Liberalist nationalist thoughts for the sake of development of economy
