Politics and utopia: An evaluation on Sezai Karakoç's concept of resistance

Utopia, as a politic imagination, is an alternative political system which coded by indivudual to the political structure, state that they are in. Alternative political systems are covered in Utopias and these systems, most of the times, guide future communities and states. When looking at the history of the world, there are plenty of Utopia examples such as Platon, Farabi and More. Although Utopias do not take place in Islamic political philosophy that much, there are people who imagine Utopia in the center of Islam especially in modern times. In this context, Sezai Karakoç's "Diriliş" concept can be considered as a political Utopia. In the first part of this work, the notion of Utopia and the relation between Utopia and politic With the reference to utopians uch as Platon, Farabi and Thaomas More are covered. In the second part, basic political concepts that are in Sezai Karakoç's perspective are analysed. In the last part of this work, whether the ressurection idea of Sezai Karakoç can be seen as an example of Utopia is discussed. The aim of this of work to investigate the idea of utopia in tradition of Islamic Political Thought in general and of Sezai Karakoçin spesific; to find out the difference and similarities of Utopia tradition between the West and East communities; and o analyse the alternative politic system which is coded with ressurection idea of Sezai Karakoç. Phenomenological and discourse analysis technic is used in the center of interpretive theory of Knowledge (Qualitative Theory). Key Words: Politics, Utopia, Sezai Karakoç, Ressurection, Civilization
