Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the historiography of İbnu'l-Esîr, who was raised in the Cezire region and has an important place in history. One of the most important sciences of the Islamic world is history. İbnu'l-Esîr was born in 555/1160 and died in 630/1233. İbnu'l-Esîr is a well-known historian in the Islamic civilization, and he also makes an indelible impression as well as a famous hadithist. İbnu'l-Esîr has meticulously evaluated his historical knowledge studies and experiences. He contributed to the history and sirah writing with his experience and knowledge and left his knowledge studies and experiences to the next generations. Throughout the years, Muslims have carefully protected his heritage and have shown the necessary importance by protecting this heritage. Muslims living in different geographies depending on the Islamic civilization translated the works of İbnu'l-Esîr into their languages. The priority of this study is to obtain the principles of İbnu'l-Esîr, who has an important position in the history of Islam, regarding the thought of sirah, and to determine his approach to sirah. In this study, there is also certain information to get to know and understand İbnu'l-Esîr better. Keywords: Islamic history, İbnu'l-Esîr, Siyer
