Özet (EN)

The research was carried out with the aim of determining the effect of the psychoeducation workshop program given to family members who care for schizophrenic patients on the care burden perception, drug compliance and problem solving skills of the family members who provide care. The sample of the study consists of the families of 36 schizophrenia patients (18 trials and 18 controls) followed in the outpatient clinic of psychiatry of Ankara Şehir Hospital. Sociodemographic Characteristics Form, PSQS, PSI and DCAQ of Individuals Caring for Schizophrenia Patients were applied. IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0 program was used in the analysis of data and mean, median, indipendent sample t test, Mann Whitney U, paired t test, Wilcoxon, Chi-square, McNemar, Spearman Rank Correlation- rho tests were used. As a result of the study, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups and the care burden decreased in terms of the total scores and the relationship between the subscale scores, economic burden and dependence (p <0.05). When the effect of the given training on drug compliance was evaluated, it was found that drug compliance increased before and after the training and the difference was significant (p <0.05). In the study, it was found that there was an increase in drug compliance in the experimental group but the difference was not significant in the evaluation of drug compliance of the experimental and control groups after training (p> 0.05). In the problem solving skills, pre-experiment and post-experiment and control-group comparisons showed that problem solving skills increased after pre-training compared to pre-training and control groups, but the difference was not statistically significant (p> 0.05). As a result, it was found that drug education given to family members who care for patients with schizophrenia according to psychobiological interventions reduced the care burden, and although not statistically significant, problem solving skills and schizophrenia patients increased drug compliance.
