Abstract (EN)
Objective: Study was carried out to determine the effect of psychoeducation based on motivational interviewing techniques on treatment compliance, hope and psychological well-being in schizophrenia patients. Material Method: The research has been done as a pretest-posttest control group and trial model. The sample size of the study was determined as 150 (75 experimental, 75 control groups) schizophrenia patients by power analysis. The research was carried out between October 2018-July 2020 in Ankara TRSM, Etimesgut Şehit Sait ERTÜRK Public Hospital TRSM and Çankırı TRSM. The data were collected using the Introductory Characteristics Form, Morisky Treatment Compliance Scale (MTCS), Herth Hope Scale (HHS), Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS). In the analysis of the data; Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi square, dependent and independent groups t test. Results: It was found that patients in the experimental group increased more in the the post-test treatment adherence (2.881.11), hope (36.123.24)and psychological well-being(24.562.91) compared to the control group(treatment adherence=1.040.03, hope=20.233.44, psychological well-being=19.732.61). In study, it was determined that psychoeducation based on motivational interviewing techniques made a statistically significant difference in the levels of treatment adherence, hope and psychological well-being of the experimental and control group patients (p <0.05). Conclusion: Psychoeducation based on motivational interviewing techniques applied to patients with schizophrenia has been found to be effective in enhancing treatment adherence, hope, and psychological well-being.
