Abstract (EN)
Affecting the regional and global carbon cycle, forests, which play an important role in global climate change, directly change the amount of carbon in the atmosphere by photosynthesis and respiration and store large amounts of carbon in soil and vegetation. Carbon where is stored in forests are indicated as above ground biomass, blove ground biomass and soil organic carbon. In this study, the amount of carbon stored in aboveground biomass was investigated. In this study, the amount of carbon stored in the above - ground biomass in the 10 - 20 years old black pine stands which are within the boundaries of Çaltepe Forest Management Directorate within Karadere Forest Management Directorate of Kastamonu Forest Regional Directorate were determined. As a result of the study, the amount of carbon stored above ground was calculated as 23,99 tons/ha.
