Abstract (EN)
DEFORMATION EDICTION OF Sm AND Nd IZOTOPS TOTALB(M1) STRENGTHÖnder ARIKSUMMARYKey words: Magnetic dipole transitions, quasi-particle, QRPA, Sm and Nd isotopes, deformation parameter, total B(M1) transition strength, Scissors ModeIn this work, first of all, some nuclear models are summarized and the phenomenathat could be explained via each model are briefly discussed. Then some informationon the magnetic dipole excitations, along with the so-called `Scissors Mode? (2.7-3.7MeV), is given, and the experimental works investigating the properties, especiallythe ` δ 2 law?, which represents the linear dependence of the summed B(M1) on thesquare of the deformation parameter, of the Sm and Nd isotopes, which belong to thetransition region from spherical to deformation. The summed B(M1) transitionstrengths for these nuclei are also calculated in the framework of the Quasi-ParticleRandom Phase Approximation (QRPA) and validity of the δ 2 law is investigatedwithin this method. Dependence of the M1 transition strength on the Scissors Modeenergies is searched, as well.x
