Abstract (EN)
Geothermal energy is an important renewable energy source. Balıkesir province is one of the leading provinces in Turkey in terms of geothermal resources. As of today, there are five district heating systems throughout the province, and Sındırgı Geothermal District Heating system is one of them. With the Sındırgı Geothermal District Heating system, the equivalent of 4650 residences is heated. In this thesis study, the energy and exergy analysis of the Sındırgı Geothermal District Heating System was carried out by considering the winter and spring periods separately. In the analysis, the data obtained by measuring or from the system were used. Analysis results were examined in terms of energy and exergy efficiencies, energy and exergy losses, and the results were interpreted using tables and graphics. Suggestions for increasing system performance and efficiency were presented.
