Investigation of predicted the self efficacy of values education of empathic tendency levels of primary school teacher candidates

In this study survey model, one of quantitative research models, is used to investigate the relation between self efficacy perception and emphaty levels of form teacher candidates for values education. In the study, 337 primary school teacher candidates studying in 2 universities determined in the 2018-2019 academic year formed the sample. The data were collected by the Value Teaching Self-Efficacy Beliefs Scale developed by Çetin (2016) and the Empathic Tendency Scale developed by Dökmen (1988). SPSS 22.0 package program was used for data analysis. Descriptive statistics, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis and correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. As a result of the study, there was a significant difference in favor of female teacher candidates in the dimension of self-efficacy perceptions related to the value teaching of primary school teacher candidates. When the levels of self-efficacy perceptions of the teacher candidates related to the value teaching according to the grade level were examined, it was found that the class level was a significant variable. It has been concluded that the self-efficacy perceptions of the primary school teachers about the value teaching differ according to the academic achievement perception. It has been concluded that the self-efficacy perceptions of the primary teacher candidates on value teaching differ according to the value teaching. It is concluded that the self-efficacy perceptions of pre-service teachers in terms of value teaching differ according to the situations where they have taken at least one of life science teaching or social studies teaching courses. When the relationship between self-efficacy perceptions and empathic tendency levels of primary school teacher candidates is examined, it is concluded that all dimensions are related to empathy.
