Abstract (EN)
In today's society, new knowledge emerges and spreads rapidly. This situation gives rise to the need of updating knowledge, constant self-improvement for individuals. Constant self-improvement is a necessity for people who are working and who will work in teaching profession, which is inherently dynamic. This situation demonstrates that lifelong learning and readiness for teaching concepts might influence each other. To determine lifelong learning and readiness for teaching levels of preservice primary school teachers and to determine the relationship between these two variables constitutes the purpose of this research. The research model, in which a quantitative method was chosen, is a correlational survey. Data has been collected from 1, 2, 3 and 4th grade 209 students who study in İnönü University in this research. Lifelong Learning Scale and Preparedness to Teach Scale was used to collect data. T-test, ANOVA and correlation was chosed to analyze data. It was found that lifelong learning and readiness for teaching levels of preservice primary school teachers were enough. It was found that readiness for teaching did not differ significantly based on the interaction effect of grade level and the way of choosing the major. A positive, moderate, and significant correlation was found between lifelong learning and readiness for teaching. It is recommended that encourage participation in workshops that support lifelong learning.
