Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to investigate the career anchors of the teachers that work in primary schools and the relation of these anchors with the demographic properties. The research involves 350 teachers that work in state primary schools of Sarıyer in İstanbul. Career anchor theory of Edgar Schein has been used in this research. Data are gathered in 2 parts which are demographic informations and a questionnaire of 34 questions about career anchors of the individual. In the questionnaire, career anchors of the teachers are weighed by the five-point Likert Scale. It is seen that demographic properties play an important role in the way Schein uses in the investigation of career anchors. The results of the research, which involve participants from the teachers working in Sarıyer, can be expanded to more general way especially by the effects of the age and the duration of work. The research involving higher number of teachers from different locations, different branches will yield into a more clear and trustful level.
