Students misbehaviours that classroom teachers encounter and the methods of coping they use

Abstract (EN)

Students can get both desired behaviours and misbehaviors in direct or indirect way during education. The reason of such behaviours are the troubles in family, culture or environment, which causes misbehaviours in the classroom. This research has been done to state what are the undesired behaviors for teachers in classroom management and which methods often used during education. The sample of the research is composed of 422 classroom teachers working in 23 primary schools in Batman province center in 2015-2016 academic year. The study being quantitative research and is patterned according to the scanning model. A questionnarie, which includes 48 questions, was conducted. SPSS 17.0 for Windows was used to analysis data gotten from data collection tools. The techniques Arithmetic mean, standart deviation, percentage, t-test, chi-square and anova had been used to analysis data. According to the research, the behaviours, which have been mostly encountered by class teachers in the school, are ''not to empty the corridor'', ''not listen to the lesson'', ''coming to the class without preparation'', ''complaining to teachers about each other'', ''to speak without permission'' and the behaviours which have been rarely encountered in classroom are ''to treat teacher with contempt'', ''using addictive substances'', ''to be interested in sexual matters extremely'', ''to be absent from classroom without permission'', to steal something in clasroom etc. Most preferred methods of teachers to handle with these behaviors are ''talk to privately'', ''talk to the families of students'', ''providing students to the counselling service'', ''to remind classroom rules'', ''to use verbal stimulations'', and the least preferred methods are ''physical response'', ''waiting up for students on the board'', ''expelling from the classroom'',"not to recognise"," to have them write down the opposite of misbehaviors for many times".
