Abstract (EN)

In the research, it is aimed to examine the classroom teachers' views on museum education in terms of gender, educational status, seniority variables. The research was designed with the relational screening model. The research sample consists of 230 classroom teachers selected by cluster sampling who worked in public schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Bolu province in the 2020-2021 academic year. As a data collection tool, the 'Teacher Opinions on Museums and the Use of Museums for Educational Purposes' scale prepared by Elif Gürbüz was used. This scale has been applied to teachers online with the Google Form Platform. Independent Samples Test was applied for gender, educational status variables, One-Way ANOVA test was applied for seniority variable. According to the findings obtained from the research, it has been determined that the classroom teachers' views on museum education do not differ according to the gender and educational status variable, while there is a significant difference according to the seniority variable. It has been concluded that the opinions of teachers are close to each other according to the status of female-male or undergraduate-graduate graduates. At the same time, it was determined that there is a significant difference in favor of teachers who have served for 20 years and over compared to teachers who have served for 1-5 years, 6-10 years and 11-15 years according to the seniority variable of teachers. Dec. The reason for this difference has been interpreted as that as the seniority of teachers increases, their views may also change, taking into account their burnout levels. As a result of the research, it was found that teachers have a high level of desire to use museum education because it causes permanent learning in the student, but their use of museums is insufficient. Since museum education increases student academic achievement in a positive way and creates permanent learning, classroom teachers can include museum education in their lessons.
