Abstract (EN)

It was aimed in this study to determine the views of classroom teachers about teaching mathematics with games and their frequency of using games in mathematics teaching. The study is conducted with the general survey model which is from quantitative research methods. The research sample consisted of 359 classroom teachers working in primary schools in Eskişehir, Odunpazarı and Tepebaşı districts in the 2020-2021 academic year. To collect data, the "Views of Classroom Teachers on Teaching Mathematics Through Games" scale was used that the researcher developed. SPSS package program was used in the analysis of the data. According to the results it was concluded that the teaching mathematics through games of classroom teachers has an effect on the mathematics education process and contributes to student-centered education, but they have difficulty in finding games and materials to be used in the mathematics teaching process, and they prefer more ready-made materials in teaching. In addition, it has been found that they use traditional games occasionally, rarely use modern games, and use traditional games more often than modern games in mathematics teaching.
