Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the social sensitivity levels of primary school teachers and to examine them in terms of various variables. For this purpose, "The Scale of Primary School Teachers' Social Sensitivity'' which had two sub-dimensions developed by the researcher and consisted of 13 items were used. In this study conducted with the screening model, the level of significance was determined as .05 in the analysis of the data. The sub-dimensions of the scale; ''individual and national sensitivity'' and ''environmental sensitivity''. Exploratory factor analysis studies were carried out for the purpose of construct validity in the scale development stage. The universe of it was selected from primary school teachers working in Sakarya, 2018-2019. After the construct validity studies of the study, it was applied to 310 person, 128 (41.3%) and 182 (58.7%), respectively. When the findings related to the sub-dimensions and total scores of the scale were examined, it was concluded that primary school teachers' social sensitivity towards individual and national sensitivity was quite high. Morever, it was concluded that primary school teachers' social sensitivity towards environmental sensitivity was low level. When the total of the scale was examined, it was concluded that the social sensitivity levels of primary school teachers were high. However, it was concluded that the social sensitivity levels of primary school teachers showed a significant difference in favor of women according to gender and in favor of teachers working in private institutions according to institution.
