Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT Master Thesis MAGNETIC SCALAR POTENTIAL ANALYSIS WITH BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD Kenan TANTAŞ Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Electrical Education 2005, Page: 52 In this study, two-dimensional magnetic scalar potential and magnetic field intensity have been calculated using the boundary element method. Laplace equation which defines magnetostatic fields problems has been converted to boundary integral equation. After discretization of the boundary integral equation with constant boundary elements, a linear equation system has been constituted. With the solution of this equation, magnetic scalar potential and magnetic field intensity have been found on the boundary of air gap. Magnetic scalar potential and magnetic field intensity inside of air gap have been calculated using, taking the boundary values. For calculation of magnetic scalar potential using the Boundary Element Method, a software program called "MSOLV" has been developed in MATLAB software package. Using MSOLV, magnetic scalar potential and Magnetic field intensity have been calculated inside of air gap of some magnetic circuit. Key Words: Laplace Equation, Boundary Element Method, Magnetic Field Intensity, Magnetic Scalar Potential VII
