Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the presence of phthalate esters in 30 commercially available cold press oil samples was searched in detail. Since the limit values were determined for 5 phthalate esters In Implementing Regulation on Substances and Materials In Contact with Food, the existence of DEHP, DBP, BBP, DiNP and DiDP esters were investigated. According to the results, The DEHP (0.56-92.12 mg/kg) was detected in the majority of samples studied (18:30). 15 examples were found to be above the limit value in the Codex. When the DBP was recorded in the level of 0.10-51.63 mg/kg for 6 samples, only 4 samples were observed above the limit value in the Codex. the BBP was determined for 4 samples in the amount of 3.88-6.04 mg/kg as below the legal limit value. Moreover, the DiNP, the maximum level of which was detected in apricot kernel oil (80.74 mg/kg) was determined for 5 samples. DiDP is identified for only 2 compounds. The DiDP amount was measured to be about the maximum level of 85.02 mg/kg for the apricot kernel oil whereas the minimum value of 2.69 mg/kg is determined for the grape seed oil. In the legal regulation, the DiNP and DiDP were evaluated together and it was found that the limit value specified for the total amount was quite high for the apricot and grape seed oils as compared to those of other samples.
