Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to examine Turkish- German relations during the Cold War era from a historical perspective. The thesis consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, the fundamental aspects of Turkısh- German relations during the Cold War discussed. This section explores the mutual policies of the two countries, diplomatic negotiations, agreements, and the general course of relations. Additionally, the impact of the international political environment during the Cold War on Turkish- German relations is also assessed. In the second chapter, the influence of media and press elements on Turkish- German relations is examined. This chapter focuses on how Cold War news in the Turkish press was shaped ideological influences, and pro-government factors. Similarly, Cold War news and analyses in the German press are studied. The third chapter concentrates on the relationship between the Cold War era and international relations. This section addresses topics such as the impact of the Cold War on the international system, polarization, bloc formation, and the transformation of international relations. The fourth chapter discusses the status of Turkish- German relations within the context of international organizations during the Cold War era. This chapter thoroughly examines Turkey and Germany's participation in international organizations, their roles, and their in their influences.
