Africa in the post-cold war era global power strugles

African continent has become important in world politics after the end of the Cold War. Natural resources of continent are on the many countries? agenda because of energy need. The mostly global assertive states consider the continent as an alternative supplier on account of natural resources.For this purpose, the actors such as United States of America, People?s Republic of China and Russian Federation, who attempt to use Africa?s potential resources, have entered into a global competition with each other. Under the circumstances of this competition, Africa?s global position and importance undulated periodically along the cold war and post-cold war era.Today African politics take form according to those actors? needs and periodic preferences. Correspondingly, in the foreseeable future, the competition for Middle East and Eurasia will be appreciated with efficiency of African policies. Africa will play a key role in determining the balance of power relations in multi-polar world, which present since cold war era.
