Abstract (EN)
The concept of `Middle East? was first suggested by naval officer, Alfred Thayer Mahan, and frequently used by England during the First World War, and continued using to the present time through making different restrictions.Middle East is defined as a geography defined by Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Somali, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Egypt from west, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman from east extending to Gulf of Oman, Turkey, Caucasus, and Republics of Central Asia including Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan from north and, Arabian Peninsula from Saudi Arabia to Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, and Philistine.By reason of the existence of natural resources such as oil, natural gas, uranium, boron minerals, and also being an area of monotheistic religions, major governments concentrate on this region.In this study, it was emphasized on the material and spiritual characteristics of the territory named as Middle East, and the intelligence service activities of the USA, UK, Turkey, Russia, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Iran, Iraq, India, Germany, and France in Middle East were argued taking the Iraq question as an example. In order to explain such case, the terms of Middle East and intelligence services were clarified and the structure of intelligence services was examined. In the final stage of the survey, it was analyzed the formation period, aims and activities of local and large intelligence services having activities in Middle East with in a historical context.
