Abstract (EN)

In our country the demand of cold vulcanizing adhesives is totally supplied by imports. The commercially available cold vulcanizing adhesives has some deficiencies in its applications and properties that seem unsatisfactory. The long application time and insufficient adhesion strength are among them. In this study, it was aimed to develop and commercialize a cold vulcanizing adhesive that can be used easily in every environment and condition, has higher adhesion strengths in comparison to the available commercial products, shorten the application time, is economical and having superior properties. In the first phase of the studies within the scope of the thesis, the effect of parameters such as time, temperature, pressure has been determined in the application of the commercial cold vulcanizing adhesives, and also experimental parameters have been established according to the obtained data. In the second phase; the lab scale experiments were carried out on the production of a new cold vulcanizing adhesive. In the production phase, the effects of solvents, fillers, resins, metal oxides and accelarators have been examined. The produced adhesives have been compared to commercial products by shear strength tests applied to conveyor belts. In the last phase of the thesis, product enhancement have been carried out and a pilot scale production was made. As a result of the thesis study, a new product that has higher adhesion properties in comparison to the commercial products and shorten the application time has been obtained.
