Abstract (EN)

Carbon dioxide (CO²) is stored in the greenhouse gases that are effective in global warming, turning into organic carbon with the highest proportion (50%). In the thesis study, it was aimed to determine how forest ecosystems have a significant positive effect on terrestrial ecosystems in reducing the global warming effects. Determination of soil organic carbon content in the Precision Conservation, Sustainable Use and Controlled Use Regions, which are the leading areas of conservation and utilization functions in the forest areas of the Soğuksu National Park, which is determined as the study area, has been put into effect on the carbon storage capacity of the human pressures to be studied. According to the anthropogenic pressure levels, the sample areas determined in the research area were chosen to be selected from similar areas such as slope, view, bedrock, elevation characteristics. In terms of completing the study, the trial sites were selected from the Precision Protection Area, the Sustainable Use Area and the Controlled Use Area. Soil specimens were taken in the spring. In the case of the Soğuksu National Park, the carbon sequestration capacities of forest ecosystems belonging to important areas within a protected area have been determined and their role in reducing global warming has been determined. The carbon capture capacities of these ecosystems have been used as a reliable and reliable reference in scientific studies. The resulting data in the protected area will be considered as an important reference in reducing the adverse effects of global warming due to the presence of high carbon storage capacities of forest ecosystems in protected areas. Key Words: Carbon, Protected Area, Soğuksu National Park, Global Warming
