Street fashion and a comparative study in two different metropolis (Milano and Istanbul)

Street fashion as an alternative type of a fashion style, has an important role in our daily lives. Streets are regarded as the first place where fashion designers and brands came out of shop windows and started to draw our attention. In the scope of the thesis, firstly relationship between clothing and social change is described in the frame of the garment. In the following sections study continues with the discussion of fashion concept, its development and the fashion phenomenon in terms of psychological and sociological circumstances. The concept of street fashion has been detailed and fashion styles of Milano, which is one of the capital cities of the world fashion and İstanbul, which is the most important fashion centre in our country were compared based on photographs obtained from different sources Finally street styles of Milano and Istanbul were evaluated, differences and similarities were discussed as they are observed on the main streets of this cities in detail.
