Özet (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the educational needs of the children working on the streets and determining the school management applications on this issue. The research has been accomplished by interview method in order to figure out the existing circumstances. The base of the research has been depended on Altındag Region which has moderate number of working children in school age. Statistically, the sample range has been selected as to be 12 schools in the Region. For the study sample, 12 school managements, 86 students and 16 parents have participated. In order to obtain the data needed interiew and observation forms have been used. In order to determine the needs of the students in the school age, the interviews have been made with those of children. With respect to those, school management applications have been commented by communicating the school managements. In order to determine the data found, in analytical side of the research, the statiscal frequencies and percentages have been carried out on the other hand the emphirical relation technique has been used for non variable side of research. In order to obtain the appropriate data to achieve the purpose of this research, interview method was chosen among qualitative research methods and the semi- structured interview technique was chosen to conduct interviews.According to the findings, a great majority of the children working on the streeet are more males than females. Most of them are 6th and 7th grades and their attendances are relatively poor. Other than they spend their times in the school, they are out to work on the street. The children sell simit, handgerchief, injuiry bands, dye/brush shoes, collect used papers, work in the bazaars or clean the car glasses.Children need to be educated for habit of cleaning, obeying the traffic rules, spending their sparetimes effectively, habit reading, studying, recognizing the resposibilities, getting the priorities right, following the events of other countries, speaking and writing Turkish good, expressing themselves right, rule of listening. On the other hand, children do not need to be educated for keeping the enviroment and animals. Most of the children do not smoke as well.School managements commonly underestimate the number of children attending their schools and working at the same time. The most common problems faced by School Managements are that the children close themselves from outside impacts, have negative attitude against school, unattendiciens, having no target towards future and no trust to people. The schools do not held special courses regarding to educational, sportive, culturel point of view to overcome the deficiencies. The reason for this is being pointed out that the teachers? willingless and the poor physical conditions of the schools. It is also obvious that the school managements do not have a regular contact with students parents. school managements are also awaiting MEB to educate those of parents and to held summer schools for these children
