The relation betwen cardiac cachexy and serum adiponectin in patiens that has left ventricule systolic disfunction

Adiponectin is a plasma protein and similar to collagen, that produced from adipose tisue, has atherogenic and antiiflammatory effects. Plazma adiponectin concentrations in humans is related inversely with BMI and body fats.In this studies, adiponectin levels increase in heart failured patients and this increasing related to severe of heart faliure and has a prognostic worth. The aim of our study; is determining efficiency of serum adiponectin on cardiac cachexy and progress by comporing serum adiponectin levels in patients who has cardiac cachexy, healthy individuals and patients who has not cardiac cachexy and left ventricule systolic disfonction. Total 90 patients included to study. Heart failured 30 patietns who has cardiac cachexy is group I. Heart failured 30 patietns who has not cardiac cachexy is group II and 30 individuals that named control group is group III. Serum adiponectin levels is determinated 58.4±15.5; 24±6.7 and 7.7±3.4 ng/ml relatively (Group I, Group II, Group III).Serum adiponectin levels in patients that has heart failure and cachexy is 58.4±15.5 and higher from other groups(p<0.05).Serum adiponectin levels and BMI group I correlated negatively with Hs-CRP,body surface area, hemoglobin levels and insulin resistance and correlated positively with BNP and left ventricule systolic and diastolic diameter cachexy that in heart failure correlated with increased adiponectin concentrations. This may be protection of physiologic demonstrating response to change of body fats. But also at the some time may be tought to related with claimed antiiflammatory role of adiponectin. Positive correlation betwen BNP and adiponectin secretion by BNP. İf increased adiponectin is caused by cachexy or a result more advenced studies needed for definitely understanding.Key Words: Adiponectin, Heart Failure, Cachexy
