Abstract (EN)

Abû Mansûr al-Mâtürîdî and his school of thought, known to be neglected in historical sources, became the subject of rework with the republic. Maturidi's rationalism, religion and world view, his attitude towards politicians and his understanding of epistemology were the main reasons that triggered and brought to the fore these studies. It has been inevitable to bring Maturidi to the agenda again in history, the subject of which a new understanding of administration, political attitude and religion-state relations will emerge, and what will be the cornerstones of the pursuit of civilization. For this reason, we criticize both studies that deal with Māturīdism from this aspect and have opposing views, by making Māturīdī readings from the primary source. By discussing in detail whether the Mâtürîdî school could carry this mission on it, we expressed that it would be incomplete in terms of revealing the big picture, considering the concept of a new civilization and the relations between religion, politics, religion and science only in the context of sects. It is obvious that social problems will have more than one cause. By moving the subject of Māturīdism, which is presented as a panacea, or Ash'arism, which was condemned to dissolve against it, to a different ground, we sought the possibility of looking at the events from different perspectives. As a result, we tried to develop a methodology on where to look or not to look for what we are looking for, by trying to reveal the Māturīdī differences that exist in reality and are conceived. With this methodology, we can have the opportunity to make Māturīdī readings more consistent and realistic.
