Analysis of social sciences 7th grade culture and heritage learning field from the opinions of social science teachers

The purpose of this research is to analyze the views of Social Studies teachers about the 7th grade Culture and Heritage learning field. The sample of the research consists of one hundred and one people who work as Social Studies teachers in the primary schools of the Ministry of National Education in Malatya in the 2021-2022 academic year. While forming the background of the research, the conceptual framework of the problem situation was determined by scanning the literature. Then, the descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used while obtaining the data in order to make detailed determinations about the learning area mentioned in the research. Then, the scale consisting of two parts developed by the researcher was applied to the participants. In the first part of the scale, the personal information of the Social Studies teachers who took the 7th grade Social Studies course in primary schools, and in the second part, the information about the teachers' views on the Social Studies 7th grade Culture and Heritage learning field were surveyed and analyzed. The results of the research were obtained with the scale developed by the researcher to determine the participants' ideas about the learning field. The statistical analysis of the research result was calculated using SSPS 24.0. As a result of the calculation, factor analyzes were calculated by making a pilot application with the scale items developed. The items with low factor analysis were removed from the scale and the scale was given its final form. As a result of the research, the views of the Social Studies teachers working in the primary education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the 2021-2022 academic year about the Social Studies 7th grade Culture and Heritage learning field were analyzed. According to this; It has been determined that there is no statistically significant difference in terms of gender, age, educational status, graduated school, years of service, class size and place of duty of the family for the related learning field. In this direction, findings and suggestions regarding the problem situation.
