Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to see the variations quantitatively and the way of expression of social concepts stated in the social studies course books which were prepared as regards the curriculum in1968, 1998 and 2004.The content of this study strongly takes as a basis of social studies course books instructed in primary schools between 1968 and 2004.At the end of the study, with the changes in programs and renewed books in 2004, it has been obviously seen that the emphasis on universal and democtaric values went up; that economic issues and economic goals were more prefered in comparison with the provious ones; that universal economic construction was tried to be performed instead of economic perception standing upon nation-state paradigm. Beneath the title of globalisation, attempts in the re-interpretation of national cultur and national identity has been culturally and politically seen; however, these attemts has showed itself in the course books like expressions of human rights and variances. Furthermore, the state of being global citizen instead of the concept of nation and the emphasis on cultural differences has been prominenced in the books. With the attempts in integration into the world, it is obviously seen that the concept of more liberal nationalism came into prominence.
