Opinions of 4th and 5th grade teachers about assessment dimension of social sciences curriculum.

The aim of this research is to find out whether any relation there is between 4th and 5th grade social sciences teachers? qualifications related to traditional assessment and alternative asssessment in 2005 social sciences curriculum and also to find out how the education level and teaching experience effect teachers? qualifications.The model for the research is descriptive. The research was carried out with 93 social sciences teachers from 10 primary schools in European side of İstanbul. The questionnaire ?Teachers? Opinion About Evaluation Dimension of 2005 Social Sciences Curriculum?, included 61 items, which were created by Doc Dr. Seval Fer, France Teacher Ferda DIKMEN and Mathematics Teacher Alper BULUT, was used to collect the data.In order to find the answers for the questions of the research, mean and frequency of the opinions of the teachers gathered with the questionnaires are transferred into tables and analyzed using the technique of variance analysis MANOVA.According to findings of the study, there are no significant differences between teaching experience regarding teachers? qualifications on traditional assessment and alternative assessment; likewise there are no significant differences between education level regarding teachers? qualifications on traditional assessment and alternative assessment.
