The effect of using speech circle tecnique on student achievement in teaching democracy adventure that are in social studies course

The aim of this study is to research the effect of the unit of democracy adventure which is included in social studies course of the sixth grade on the student success using speech circle. In this study, pre-test and post-test on the control group were conducted. The research has been conducted Ağrı Hamur Yatılı Bölge Elementary schooll in, 2016-2017 academic year and it has included 6/A,B,C,D students. There search was done on control and experiment groups consisting of seventy students. Traditional method was applied to control group while speech circle technique was applied to experiment group. In research, it is applied in both groups as an achievement test. Data obtained were analyzed spss programme. According to results obtained from the analysis, in the respect of test marks, the students in the experiment group are more successful than the students in control group. In the light of the results obtained from this study, it has been found speech circle is more effective than traditional learning method.
