Examination of the work titled Risaletu'n Nushiyye (by Yunus Emre) in scope of Social Studies Course Curriculum in terms of values education

The aim of the study is to determine the existence status of the value desired to be given by the Social Studies Course Curriculum (SSCC) in Yunus Emre's Risalet'un Nushiyye work and to reveal the importance of work in terms of values education in this direction, the study is important in terms of its result. The study consists of five parts. In the first part, problem situation, purpose and importance, problem sentence, sub-problem sentences, limitations, assumptions and definitations were included. In the second part, information was given about Yunus Emre's life, his works, the concept of value and values education, the relationship between the program and values education was examined by making explanation about the Social Studies Course Curriculum. In this context, information was given about values education and the work. The method was mentioned in the third part. In the data collection phase of the study which was carried out with the qualitative research approach the document analysis technique was used and the Risalet'un Nushiyye and social studies course curriculum was used as te data collection tool. Content analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. Two experts opinions were consulted to ensure the validity and reliability of te study. Findings and comments are included in the fourth part. İn the work twelve of the values (justice, peace, scientificness, industriousness, solidarity, sensitivity, honesty, equality, freedom, respect, love and helpfullness) that were intended to be given through the social studies course curriculum had been determined. The strings containing these values were determined, the dictionary meaning of the values was explained and comments were made by focusing on the messages given. In te fifth part, discussion, conclusion and suggestions were mentioned. The study shows compatibility with the studies on values in terms of detecting similar values. In conclusion, Risalet'un Nushiyye has the characteristics of a rich treasure in terms of values education and it would be appropriate to benefit from this work in social studies education.
