Evaluation of teaching of social sciences on academic geography lesson according to the views of teachers and academicians

Abstract (EN)

This research was planned to solve and explain geography topics with the help of teachers and academists. The working groups of the study is teacher of social studies and social studies educators who are working between 2014-2015 years in Turkey. This is delphi research that can be completed in three sections. The delphi studies are; the survey send to more than one expert, the works that the experts are informed at the end of each section and have a consensus on items by the help of experts. At the end of the first section, the survey that is composed of open ended questions experts confirmed was implemented on 38 teachers and 14 academists who is composed of totally 52 people. The answers of the participants on survey were evaluated in the research. Then, the second section is composed of the main Delphi survey. This survey was prepared by the help of likert scale and sent to the participants who evaluate the survey. Totally 29 participants was turned back to the survey. At the second section of the Delphi survey, rates of first quarter, third quarter , median and extend of the items were calculated. In that way, the third survey was completed. That survey was evaluated one more time by the participants who implemented the survey. Totally 21 participants turned back. According to results of the third survey results, there is a substantially consensus between participants and the study was ended. At the end of the research, some problems like program, time, method, material and teachers in the teaching of geography topics was indicated and by the help of experts, some solution advices was tried to indicate.
