Teachers? opinions about the application of the interval disciplines in social sciences lesson in the classroom

The aim of this investigation is to put forward the teachers? opinions whichare about the application of the interval disciplines in class at the 4th and 5th gradeSocial Sciences lesson in Bolu and advise in necessary situations.In the investigation qualitative method had been used. The data were gottonby using the half constructed interview method from 20 teachers who studied with4th and 5th grades in 10 primary education schools which are at the center of Bolu in2006-2007 teaching and education spring term.At the end of the investigation it was reached that the explanations givenabout the interval discilines were found inadequate by the teachers, the teachers didn?t do additional study about the interval discipline brunches which are stated in theprogramme. It is also thought that interval disciplines didn? t reach their aim. Thereason for that is said to be that there aren? t applicabilities of all the intervaldisciplines. So the teachers who are interviewed don? t want another intervaldiscipline to be placed to the programme except for the existing interval disciplines.It had been stated that the number of the lesson in Social Sciences should beincreased or the number of the gain of the interval discipline should be decreased tobe able to reach the interval disciplines to the aim.Key Words: Interval discipline, gain, Social Sciences.
