Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to determine the social and science teacher candidates' attitudes towards environmental knowledge. In the study, screening model which is one of the quantitative research methods was used. The study group consists of 114 undergraduate, 60 students studying in the department of science teaching and 54 studying at the department of social studies teaching at AbantİzzetBaysal University. SPSS 20 software was used for data analysis. Students' environmental knowledge and environmental attitudes were analyzed statistically and findings were translated into tables and interpreted. As a result of this study, environmental knowledge and attitude levels of the prospective teachers of social studies and science teachers were determined. Social studies and science teacher candidates' environmental knowledge was found to be moderate and their attitudes towards the environment were higher than those of science teacher candidates. In the light of these results, we could say; In the Social Studies undergraduate program, environmental education courses can be revised and arrangements can be made for positive permanent behavioural changes in students.
