Effect of museum education on awareness raising in students about cultural assets in social studies teaching (Malatya province example)

In this research, it is aimed to examine the effect of museum education in order to raise awareness among students about cultural assets in social studies teaching. Research group 2017-2018 5, 6 and 7 in 8 state schools located in Battalgazi and Yeşilyurt districts of Malatya province the fall semester of the academic year. Forms 999 students who continue their education in the classroom. Before schools were preferred, social studies teachers were contacted and students attending the museum trip events were preferred. The model of the study was chosen to use the "relational scanning model", which is included in the "general scanning model". As a data collection tool, a Likert scale consisting of 20 items was used. Analysis of data was performed using parametric techniques with SPSS 23 program. As a result of the study, there was a significant difference between the gender variable and the female students ' opinion was higher. It was found that there was a significant difference in the class variable.5. Students of who continue their education in the classroom; 6 and 7. Students according to of who continue to educatıon in classrooms have a lower level of opinions.6 and 7.the awareness created by the museum trips of the class students, the impact of the museum trips on personal development, the impact of the museum trips on the studies and their views on the activities of the museum tour have been higher. The awareness-raising effect of museum visits was found to be at the highest level. In addition, positive correlation was obtained in the correlation between dimensions, thus increasing the awareness of the museum visits, the impact of the museum visits on personal development and the effect of the studies. For this reason, it was concluded that it would be appropriate to organize museum trips during the related gains of social studies course.
